Some of you may be wondering what the title means..
It’s quite simple really but for some reason many either don’t understand the importance or just flat out underestimate it’s significance.
What I’m essentially referring to is “Attraction Marketing“.
It’s a fact that unless you make yourself attractive to others, you will likely suffer from a shortage of potential MLM business prospects. When it comes to signing up customers to your companies product autoship, Attraction Marketing may not be necessary, but this wont be the case when it comes to building your organization.
This is why you generally don’t see the top network marketers promoting their product or opportunity like the remaining 87% of the distributors do that go around trying to prospect and hunt people down to see if they’re interested in joining their business opportunity.
For the most part, here’s the deal guys.. if someone is interested in something they’ll usually go looking for whatever they think can help solve their issue. So if you position yourself as someone of value and knowledge to others that are looking to build a business from home, the people that happen to be looking for that will likely find you if you’re marketing yourself properly.
How do you do that?
Well first off, make sure you have valuable knowledge about our profession for other people to begin educating themselves. Experience helps but wont always factor in unless you happen to already have it. As your experience grows you’ll naturally have more to offer and things will go smoother in most aspects.
Show a willingness to teach others what it takes to be a network marketer with successful intentions. You must understand many core principles of marketing and business. Be diligent and be a student of your own craft!
The doctor to be has to go through college for many years before taking on their actual career and this isn’t much different.. this is the concept where so many make the mistake of misconception and end up quitting before anything could get started.
Realize that there’s a competitive atmosphere online so you must brand yourself in a way in which you standout just enough so that you don’t get lost in the sea of professional wannabees. This works exactly the same way with conventional small business out in the offline world.
Observe one of your local businesses that are listed in the yellow pages and have company vehicles with signage on them. Also notice that the personnel are dressed in a way that makes a professional, confident statement. They will also be equipped with the tools to get the job done right the first time. This is the way that you have to treat your network marketing business or it will not survive, let alone even get off the ground. Have patience and do what needs to be done.
We want to be doing things that make other people want to join us or at least talk to us about doing business together. What we don’t need to be doing is wasting time running after people that likely don’t even want what we are offering in the first place. You will certainly get a lot of NO’s that way and most are an unnecessary waste.
Just spend your time educating yourself as much as possible and be marketing YOURSELF, not your product or opportunity. When the right kind of people begin to notice you, you wont even need to convince them how good all that other stuff is because they’ll already want to have you guiding them through building their share of the business.
It’s all about what you can do for them. That’s why smart people join people that know what they’re doing and give off the essence of success.
The object is simple.. we want to be hunted down by those that want what we have and with all that extra time not spent on hunting for prospects you will be able to learn more and then teach your new partners all the things that they would have never known had they joined under someone with inferior or less knowledge than yourself.
The more targeted skill-sets and knowledge you can apply to your business, the better it will be. Pass as much of it as you can to your people and then watch as your organization grows solidly over time. A strong foundation will prove to be the difference because it helps cut down on mistakes for all involved within your circle!
It’s a long journey that often needs to start out with us completely forgetting about our ties to any money involved (all business ventures come at a cost and in this profession the cost is relatively low so stop worrying about it). Concentrate on your education & personal development and the pieces will come together nicely. Make sure to align yourself with the teachings of those that have been successful before yourself and as long as you put in the effort and time (even if it takes a few years) you’ll be on your way to bigger & better things. This is a promise!
It’s nice to know what other people think, so be sure to leave a comment below.. thanks!

Hello Bill,
I agree done right the internet works wonders, I still use the old ways that they say don’t work. But done right I think you can build your business faster , my proof my team grew by 100 in December. It is truely the value you bring to the table on or off line, great post!
Hi William,
Thanks for commenting and congrats on your teams growth! I agree with the fact that many of the non-silly older methods can work for the people that practice & refine them. As a matter of fact, one of the best mentors that I’ve found for building a MLM business mostly offline would be Tom “Big Al” Schreiter. The internet is only a leveraging tool or an extension of what we would do elsewhere.. unfortunately many people think it should just magically produce an income for them if they go around spamming everyone.. they are the same individuals that don’t think they need to invest any time, money and effort into their business. But yes, in the end for maximum potential, personal development and decent amount of skill-sets sure go along ways after just a few shorts years in this profession. William, let’s make this an awesome 2010 !
