So WHO is to Blame for Your Lack of Success as a Network Marketer ?

This is a very HOT topic in Network Marketing and always has been!

Wouldn’t it be so easy to blame it on someone besides yourself ?  lol

Well that would be the easy way out but in the end it would not help you one bit and you know that’s the truth because it’s that same way with any other situation in life.

Here’s an analogy to back this up:

Let’s say you graduated high school with 95 other people..  after say 10 years, what’s the chances that all of you are making the same income each year? I have a feeling the incomes would vary greatly.

But how can that be when you all pretty much went through the same subjects and had a lot of the same teachers ?

My guess would be that people went off in different directions over the years. Many went on to college for a degree, vocational post graduate school to obtain technical skills or maybe the military..  the others went out into the job field and others didn’t do much of anything up until 3-5 years after high school.

I know there could be other variables in the equation, but you get the point.

Some people went out of their way to gain more knowledge, skills and experience to help them be better in a chosen field and others did little or nothing at all after high school.

So if five people invested in themselves and went to post grad school and obtained a certificate or degree in Electrical Engineering, plus did a 1 year apprenticeship thereafter and another five people just read a few books on Electrical Engineering, which group of people do you think will go on to make higher incomes on an individual basis?

I’m sure you picked the ones that have the degree & apprenticeship. Once again the other important observation is that those same people took it upon themselves to get what they needed beforehand, so that they could have a much greater chance of making more money and being more successful.

Almost everything I’ve ever seen in this world comes with a price & sacrifices to make. These success stories don’t come overnight. Somewhere along the journey people had to grind it out along with having loans to pay off in order to get that additional education. They sacrificed a few years of their life to get to that higher qualifying level. If they had quit just after half way, they would have been considered failures and not much better than those that chose to do nothing.

This is why I will always preach that anyone’s first 12-16 months as a network marketer, is just the beginning. You can make a comparison to it being like 2-3  semesters in college but without the heavy price tag. Just realize that you shouldn’t expect to make much during your training period. If this time period of training and uncertainty without much income seems like an issue than it may be wise not to involve yourself in this profession at all because it does take time and effort on your part to get where you want to be. It’s a profession and not a hobby, so treat it as such.

I’ve always said “the professionals make the money”.  And it’s that way in all professions, not just the network marketing profession.

Here’s another scenario:

If you were working a job but decided midstream that you wanted a career instead..  what do you think that would entail?

Well there’s a good chance that you would have to keep working your current job while you get yourself the proper education for your new career choice. Some potential employers will train the right people but that doesn’t mean YOU will necessarily qualify for it from their standpoint. That would mean if you wanted a position like that bad enough you would have to get that education & training on your own and we know that will cost big bucks out of your pocket.

Let me get back to how all this ties into network marketing..

You see, it’s generally your sponsors job to get you going in the beginning and set you in the right direction within your first year so that you know where to go to find all the information you’ll ever need to be on your way to becoming a professional network marketer. After that..  it’s up to you to start learning and practicing your newly acquired skills.

You’re actually your own boss from day one and you’ll be calling the shots..  it’s technically your business and no one elses, right? and even though the better you do, the more your sponsor makes, you have to sometimes put yourself in their shoes and realize that they only have so much time to spend with each person on their team just like you would if you have people under you.

Everyone starts off in this profession virtually the same way (as entrepreneurs) looking to work for themselves.

It will never matter how much your sponsor or upline makes. The only people that collect those commission checks is them and the only person that collects your commission checks is YOU.

Start thinking like a boss and an owner right now..  take responsibility for yourself so you can take control of your future and outcome. If you do this you’ll be able to take most of the credit for your success!

And just remember this: there’s a really good chance that your sponsor didn’t have everything handed to them as well and let’s face it, we’re not all going to end up with a high profile network marketer as our sponsor.

Stick around for awhile..  I’ll get you on the right track in the weeks and months to come.

It’s nice to know what other people think, so be sure to leave a comment below.. thanks!
